Postpartum Tea

This formula should be made as an infusion – an herbal preparation that draws out vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and aromatic oils. It is deeply nourishing plant medicine.

1. Combine the following herbs:

  • 2 parts lemon balm
  • 1 part red raspberry leaf
  • 1 part shatavari root
  • 1 part hibiscus flowers
  • ½ part hawthorn berries
  • ½ part catnip
  • ½ part ginger
  • ¼ part rose petals
  • ¼ part chamomile

2. Place ¼ cup of herb mixture in a glass quart jar.

3. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool for 1 minute.charcoal_branch

4. Pour hot water over the herbs, screw on the lid, and steep for 4-8 hours. Notes: The infusion will keep for 24 hours in the refrigerator. It’s delicious iced, or you can warm it over low heat before consuming. For best results, drink 1-3 cups a day.
