“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” ~Osho

mae-bebe I truly believe that whether a woman’s first baby, or her 10th, with each new child is born a new mother. There is something about giving anybody that place in a woman’s heart which changes her to the core. Mothering Arts Maple Valley is a gathering of women on the journey of motherhood, experiencing together the joys and challenges, laughter and tears, celebrations and defeats, sweat and sweetness that our lives have become. We are not who we once were. We are growing into so much more: our new name, Mama. As we metamorphose into something new, we can join in sisterhood with others in our community who want to embrace this most amazing transformation together. Join us for 10 weeks of connecting through guided discussions, journaling, learning self-care and other tips from wise women in our community, enjoying the support of an elder, and simply sharing time over tea and nutritious snacks. Our discussions center on nurturing the nurturer: tending to the new person we are blossoming into, and some of our topics include “A New Image”, “A New Village”, “A New Journey” and “A New World”. No matter your background, your experience, or your circumstance, we value your contributions as another new bud in the garden. In turn, the vine of support you gain will likely grow far beyond the 10 weeks- the possibilities at that point are endless. Come blossom with us!

We welcome all mamas and their infants through the first year.

Please contact us for information on registering for the next session!
