New Mama Support Circle

NEW MAMA SUPPORT CIRCLE ~ FALL 2018
Join together with other mothers as we learn to care for ourselves and our little ones in our own unique way. We will create a circle of support, learning from each other, wise women in the community and elders as we develop our own inner wisdom as mothers. New mothers deserve to be cared for as they learn to nurture their babies.
The Fall 2018 Circle will focus on Health and Well-being. We will meet for 10 weeks and each week will focus on a different aspect of health and well-being - for ourselves, for our babies and for our families. The circles will weave together information from community resources, sharing our own experiences, reflection, nourishment, gentle ways of connecting with your baby and caring support for all the ups and downs of motherhood. Topics may include: mindful parenting, infant massage, yoga for the new mom, pelvic health, nutrition for moms and babies, simple ways to celebrate the seasons, ways to foster babies’ development and more.
Mothers in their first year of parenting are welcome to join with their babies 1-12 months old. We cannot accommodate older children, but second time moms and anyone who identifies as a mom - however you came into that role - are welcome. We will meet every Monday from 11-12:30 for 10 weeks beginning October 1st through December 10th. No class Nov. 26th.

CONTACT

Rachel Mulry is a parent educator and mom of three. As an elementary school teacher, Rachel was passionate about helping children, but she soon realized that the key to helping children was to support the parents. After becoming a mom herself, Rachel has sought out resources to support her own family and trained to share these resources with others. Parenting is intense work and deserves to be valued and respected. With good support, every parent is capable of leading their own family well. Rachel will be facilitating the New Mama Support Circle as well as participating with her own new baby, 3 month old Ania. She has completed the Mothering Arts Facilitator training in 2017 and will bring the spirit of nurturing to her community in Carbondale.
